This famous but the flop Bollywood actor was born one day after India got its independence. No!I don't mean to say that he is that old. Actually he was born on 16th August 1981. And if you think that this historic kindda birth date, related to the rule of British in our country, has something to do with the British accent in Upen Patel then you are wrong. In fact, he is a British -Indian model who is trying his luck in Bollywood since last few years.
Upen Patel began his career as a model and got a good break in modelling after he won Zee TV's Supermodel Hunt in 2002. He got several modelling assignments with the big brands. He also bagged the MTV India Most Stylish Male Award for two times. He also tried his luck in several music videos including the remix video of "Kya Khoob lagti ho".
Finally Upen stepped in the world of Bollywood by making his debut in the movie "36 China Town".He played a casanova kind of character in this movie. For this performance, he earned few appreciations as he danced well in the movie and was able to hold himself among a bunch of actors. The same movie won him the Filmfare Award for the Best Debut Actor category. But who knew that destiny had kept only this award for him!:)
After "36 China Town" he got to act in several movies like "Namaste London","Shaka Laka Boom Boom" in 2007,"One Two Three","Money Hai To Honey Hai" and "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab kahaani". Whether these movies were a hit or a flop at Box-office is a different story but what Upen Patel got out of them is the real question here. Well....the answer is "nothing".Either he had a guest appearance in these movies or on the other hand, sometimes his role was smaller even then the guest artist!
Okey, now leave behind all the facts and figures related to the number of awards that Upen got or the number of movies starring Upen Patel. But let's think for a while about his acting. What do you think about it? Bad? Worse? Worst? Pathetic? Well...
you may yourself pick any option that you want!
Actors like Upen Patel should rethink about their career in Bollywood because it's a place where looks alone cannot get you fame, money or work in movies. You should really take some acting classes Mr. Patel!
