Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942. Amitabh gained popularity in the early 1970s with the title of "angry young man" of Bollywood cinema, and has since become one of the most prominent figures in the history of Indian cinema.

Amitabh Bachchan has won numerous major awards in his career, including three National Film Awards and twelve Filmfare Awards. Big B holds the record for most number of Best Actor nominations at the Filmfare Awards. Amitabh Bachchan has worked as a playback singer, film producer and television presenter, and was an elected member of the Indian Parliament from 1984 to 1987.

Amitabh Bachchan made his film debut in 1969 as one of the seven protagonists in Saat Hindustani, the film was directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas that featured Utpal Dutt, Madhu and Jalal Agha. His other noted films includes Parwaana, Reshma Aur Shera, Guddi, Bawarchi. Big B saw significant development in his career in 1973 when director Prakash Mehra cast him in the leading role for the film Zanjeer. Than came Abhimaan, Namak Haraam.

In 1974, Amitabh Bachchan made several guest appearances in films such as Kunwara Baap and Dost, before playing a supporting role in the highest grossing film of that year, Roti Kapda Aur Makaan. Amitabh Bachchan also played the leading role in the crime drama Faraar and the romantic drama Mili. August 15, 1975 released film Sholay, became the highest grossing film of all time in India.

Despite of his bad health, the actor never gave up and is still the "Shahenshah" of Bollywood cinema. Amitabh also appeared in 2006 Family, Darna Zaroori Hai, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna for which he was also nominated in the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award category and same year followed with Baabul.

In 2007 he gave outstanding performances in Eklavya: The Royal Guard, Nishabd, Cheeni Kum, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom,Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag and gave special appearance in Om Shanti Om.

Than in 2008 he was featured in Jodhaa Akbar, Bhoothnath, Sarkar Raj, God Tussi Great Ho, The Last Lear and this film also won him the Stardust Best Actor Award. After giving a special appearance in 2009 Delhi-6 his upcoming movies are Aladin, Johnny Mastana, Zamaanat, Talismaan, Pa and Teen Patti.

Premnath-Indian film actor

Premnath born in Peshawar on November 21, 1926. He was an actor in Indian films. Premnath made his film debut in Ajit. He got major roles in Raj Kapoor first directorial film Aag and Barsaat (1949) which was his first major success.

Premnath went on to appear in many films for the next three decades, some of which were the biggest blockbusters in Indian film history. Some of Premnath's most notable films were Aan (1952), Teesri Manzil (1966), Johny Mera Naam (1970), Tere Mere Sapne (1971), Roti Kapada Aur Makaan (1974), Dharmatma (1975), Kalicharan (1976) and Desh Premee (1982). He also starred in the religious Punjabi film Sat Sri Akal (1977).

He fell in love with actress Bina Rai during the filming of Aurat. They married and formed a production company together called P.N. films. They pinned high hopes for their films, which didn't become hits, such as "Shagufa," "Prisoner of Golconda," "Samunder" and "Watan." Thus, the Premnath-Bina Rai pairing never clicked on the screen.

Premnath earned Filmfare nominations as Best Supporting Actor for Shor (1972), Bobby (1973), Amir Garib (1974), and Roti Kapda Aur Makaan (1974). Apart from Bollywood films, the actor also appeared in an episode of the American television series Maya in 1967 and a 1969 American film titled Kenner opposite former football player turned actor Jim Brown.

His last film appearance was in Hum Dono (1985) after which he retired from acting. He died on November 3, 1992 of a heart attack at the age of 66.
