Legendary Guru Dutt

Born on 9th July 1925, this legendary actor has given a new definition of acting to Indian Cinema, he knocked the doors of bollywood with the movie : "Chand", and his most memorable movie is "Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam" that fetch him Filmfare Best Film Award , yes he is Guru Dutt, he was an actor with deep sense of intensity, as it was clearly reflected in his acting.

Guru DuttGuru Dutt was born on at Bangalore in Karnataka his father was Shivsankar Rao Padukone and mother was Vasanthi Padukone,he has done his schooling from Kolkata, then he joined Uday Shankar India Culture Centre at Almora, Uttaranchal where he got a scholar ship for five years of Rs. 75 annually. Then he moved to Mumbai,he got a job with Prabhat Film Company in Pune, under three year contract, it was arranged by his uncle.

Where he met Dev Anand and Rehman, and they became good friends, besides acting he assisted director Vishram Bedekar the movie was "Lakhrani".As the Prabhat Film Company collapsed he moved to Mumbai, where Guru Dutt worked with Gyan Mukherjee and Amiya Chakravarthy,he also directed movies his movie was Baazi as a director, the movie got big success.

As an actor and director he gave so many movies like "Pyasa", "Aar Paar","Sailab", "C I D" Chaudhvin Ka Chand' , "Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam", Kaagaz Ke Phool were some of his remarkable movies, he was married to Geeta Dutt, famous play back singer , his family life was not happy he smoked heavily, drank heavily, Guru Dutt left this world on 10th October, 1964.
