Ashok Kumar an acting legend

He is a legend of acting, has left an incredible impression in the hearts of people yes he is Ashok Kumar, who ruled over Indian cinema.You would be wondered to know that Ashok Kumar started his career in films accidentally, his first movie was Bombay Talkies film "Jeevan Naiya", the story behind his coming in the film is that the hero of that movie ran away.

Now the company faced the need a new hero and search began, Ashok Kumar was working as laboratory assistant in that production company, director of the movie Himanshu Rai, called Ashok Kumar to act in the movie well this was the glorious beginning of a six-decade-long acting career. He formed on screen pair with Devika Rani they did so many films together.

The movies are Savitri, Nirmala, Izzat, somehow his performance was overshadowed by devika then he came out with the movies like Bandhan, Jhoola and "Kangan. He has sung his own songs, he was called Dadamuni and produced so many films for Bombay Talkies his unforgettable movie was "Mahal" opposite Madhubala, in the late 1960's he came out by playing roles of grandparent, dirty old man and parent.

Ashok kumar performed wonderfully with tragedy queen, one of the finest actresses of bollywood Meena Kumari, he also appeared on television and did very popular soap opera called Hum log and also played title character in the unforgettable 'Bahadur Shah Zafar. Ashok kumar's last film was "Aankhon Mein Tum Ho came in the year 1997. His awards are BFJA Best Actor for "Gumrah", Filmfare Best Actor
Award for "Aashirwaad , Filmfare Best Actor Award for "Rakhi", Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for "Afsana " for Aashirwaad he got National Film Awards as well as BFJA Best Actor, he was also entitled with Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award and Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
