Irafan was born in Jaipur, ,he is an NSD graduate then he switched to Mumbai to try his luck in the field of acting, he acted in so many T.V serials like Darr, Banegi Apni Baat", Starbest Sellers and Chandrakanta. He has done theatre and he got critical acclaim for the movie "Ek Doctor Ki Maut". After that there was no looking back he got so many offers of many bollywood movies.

His most memorable movie Maqbool where ha came out with title role, this movie was an adaptation of Shakespear's story , for the movie Haasil he won Filmfare Award in Best Villain category, his another english film called "The Namesake has biggest overseas, His another international outcome is "A Mighty Heart".
